Digital Photography

When I first started into Digital Photography,
I was underwhelmed by the output of the process.
It did not provide the same quality of product.
The digital process did not exceed what was available
in film.

Someone suggested that I needed to use Photoshop.
I found Photoshop very expensive and it has a vertical
learning curve for photographers.
It simply was not cost effective for a photographer.
It is great product for graphic designers.

Recently there have appeared software products
created specifically for photographers.

Some of the newer photography software products
are LightZone; Photomatix Pro.
These produce quality digital output.

A new plateau has appeared in photography :
HDR (High Definition Range imaging)
This is a technique used over seventy years
ago by Charles Wyckoff.
It involved hours of darkroom work.
Today with digital cameras and powerful
workstations, it takes place in minutes.

First Blog

I have put away my Nikon F and 35mm film forever.
I’m now fully committed to digital photography
and the dry computer “darkroom”.

I’ve experimented with digital with a series
of Olympus cameras:

    • 3 MP C-720
    • 5 MP C-50
    • 12 MP SP-590uz

I took the plunge yesterday;
I went
Adorama Cameras
http://www.adorama.com

I bought a refurbished Nikon D5000 12 MP with
a refurbished 18- 55 mm AF VR zoom for a price
so low you will have to call “Sy” at
1-888-216-7400
extension 2265 and ask him.

If you call him I’m sure,
he can help you too.
Tell him I sent you.
